You want to make sure you are eating Healthy on the Ketogenic Diet

So Remember:

Eat lots of Vegetables.

STAY AWAY from Sugar and foods high in carbohydrates

This means NO Pasta, Bread, Donuts, Candy, Cereal, Oatmeal, Sandwhiches... The list goes on, but be smart and just follow what you can eat.

What you can enjoy on the Ketogenic Diet

  • Meats (Beef, Steaks, Ground beef, Ribs)
  • Poultry (Chicken, Turkey, Duck)
  • Vegetables 
  • Cheese
  • Fruits*
  • Eggs
  • Nuts

*Remember some fruits like Apples and Oranges have high amounts of sugar, so don't over do it on the amount of fruit consumed in a day. Although they are beneficial, and have fiber which helps breakdown the sugars, too much can make your carbohydrate intake go up

A Few Examples

Fish: Salmon, Tuna, Cod, Swordfish, Trout, and all their other water dwelling friends

Vegetables: Spinach, Celery, Kale, Carrots, Tomatoes, Beets, Arugula, Onions, Etc. Eat all of your favorite Veggies, just no Potatoes

Fruits: Apples, Blueberries, Bananas, Oranges, Mangos, Etc. Avocados are extremely beneficial for the Ketogenic Diet. They are high in fat, and have a variety of health benefits.

Nuts: Almonds, Walnuts, Cashews, Peanuts, Brazil Nuts and so on... Nut Butters, such as Almond and Peanut butter are great for the ketogenic diet since they are very high in Fats

Cheese: Provolone, Cheddar, Swiss, Feta, Blue Cheese and more all are high in Fats

Meats: Steaks, Sausages, Ground Beef are all allowed on the Ketogenic Diet, and that includes BACON

Poultry: Chicken, Turkey and Duck are all fair game

Eggs: However you like em. Scrambled, Fried, Over Easy, Hard Boiled

Basically, you want to eat as many greens as you can. Eat lots of salads and then use meats, and fish as additive to salads to make them more filling

Same goes with cheese and nuts. Life is about moderation, so remember add cheese and nuts to salads for flavor and some added health benefits, but in excess they can prevent keto adaptation
