Eating Fat to lose Fat
Since the staple of the Ketogenic diet is fat intake here are some foods to help you achieve optimal ketosis
Coconut oil - Is one of the most popular foods for the Ketogenic Diet. Coconut oil contains MCT (medium chain triglycerides) which provide healthy energy. Add it to your tea or coffee, and whenever you are cooking meals cook with coconut oil. It adds a unique flavor while also adding more grams of fat to your meal
Avocados - are a great way to get more fats and they are delicious. Just one cup of avocado has 21 grams of fat. Add avocado to salads and meals, or just eat them on their own
Grass Fed Butter - Butter has very high levels of fat and can boost flavor of your Coffee or put it on top of your steak to make it extra delicious
Nuts - Almonds, Walnuts, Cashews, Peanuts, Brazil nuts are great snacks on the Ketogenic Diet
Almond & Peanut Butter - add to celery, bananas, or apples and make a delicious guilt free snack
Olive Oil - Goes well atop any salad to increase the grams of fat in your diet and is delicious. Oil down
Fighting Hunger Cravings
BCAA'S (Branched Chain Amino Acids) - Adding BCAA's to water and drinking that or to your favorite green juice is a great way to suppress hunger cravings
Nut mixes - Having Mixed nut packages flavored with herbs and spices are a great way to prevent hunger. DO NOT eat trail mixes with Chocolate or Candy. You want to avoid sugar intake.
